TECHNICAL FEATURES
CAS Shell โ The C.A.S. Shell has an anatomical shape that matches the shape of the foot.ย This allows for a better out-of-the box initial fit. The dimples on the shell offer less surface tension and facilitate heating, making customizing the shell easier. The shell retains the new shape better and longer.
Wrap Shell Construction โ In keeping with Tecnicaโs high-performance overlap boot construction, the new Zero G Peak shell construction combines the wrapping ๏ฌt of a high-performance boot with the walkability of a touring boot. Once you close the shell buckle with the cable system, the foot is ๏ฌrmly wrapped for uncompromising downhill performance.
CAS Liner โ C.A.S. has revolutionized ski boots with regards to fit and personalization.ย The liners are anatomically shaped for optimal comfort and offer great heel hold. The internal part of the liner is shaped to match the foot while the exterior matches and conforms to the shape of the shell. The dual density micro-cell material is durable and easy to customize. The C.A.S. liners are less prone to pack-out maintaining the fit over a longer period of time.
Power Frame & Carbon Co-injection โ Thanks to a new generation of carbon co-injected shell material, the Zero G Peak ย is strong, powerful and smooth while skiing. The Power Frame construction increases stiffness and torsional resistance, yet allows to reduce the thickness of the shell.
T-Hike Mechanism โ The T-Hike is a lighter interpretation of the Zero G Tour Double Blocking Mechanism. It offers strong, progressive ๏ฌex and great lateral power transmission. The shell is connected to the cuff at two separate points, and once in hiking mode it guarantees unrestricted walkability. In addition, the internal spoiler delivers unique solidity to the boot on downhill
Carbon Reinforced Sole โ By reinforcing the sole area with carbon, we have made this boot 10% stiffer in terms of torsional rigidity compared to conventional boots (according to tests conducted by the Engineering Department at the University of Padova).
Power Lock Strap โ The Power Lock strap provides perfect control and more precise power transmission. The hook eliminates the need to open the strap completely, saving you time.
Spoiler with Forward Lean Adjustment โWhether itโs touring or high-performance skiing, with the wedge spoiler you can adjust the forward lean to get your boot just the way you want it. The Zero G Peak is delivered with a 13ยฐ forward-lean set-up, and the spoiler adds another +2ยฐ of forward lean. The ramp angle is 3.5ยฐ.
FITTING YOUR BOOTS
โ To properly assess the fit of any boot you must lace or buckle it completely. The boot will feel small until you do this because your toes will be pushed to the front until laced or buckled. Also, keep in mind all boot liners stretch out and get bigger.ย
โ First, lace or buckle the boot loosely. Next, flex into the boot to drive your heel into the heel pocket. Doing this makes room for your toes. Lastly, finish lacing or buckling the boot in a flexed position.
โ Be sure to wear the boots for at least 10 minutes fully laced or buckled before making a determination.ย Remember these boots are not made for walking, keep your knees slightly bent and flexed forward into riding position. When doing this your heels should be pushed into the back of the boot and your toes should be comfortable.ย
โ You should wear the thinnest sock you are comfortable with. Blood flow is the number one thing that keeps your feet warm. Adding more material around your feet with thicker socks increases the chances of reducing blood flow.
โ To help your foot sit properly in your boot, you may consider an aftermarket footbed like Superfeetยฎ or Sidasยฎ. A footbed with arch support, not just cushion, helps align your foot in the shell and alleviates pressure points. Footbeds should be sized to your arch height and length, not your shoe size.ย
โ Spend some time choosing your boots, they are the most important piece of your gear!
